Balance and Gait

The first of its kind in the area, the balance center offers patients with various balance and movement problems an individualized, functional, movement based approach to directly service the demand for reducing both the risk and fear of falling . Our primary goal is to maximize optimal patient outcomes, with a commitment to providing outstanding compassionate care.

Balance and Gait Center protocol and techniques are exclusive to Central Penn Physical Therapy and are based on the most recent research out of University of Pittsburgh performed by a Physical Therapist colleague.

Our expert Physical Therapy team will evaluate your individual needs with respect to gait efficiency, function and safety. Then, we will develop effective motor learning interventions with valid and reliable measures of mobility to reduce the risk and fear of falling. This will help increase the your awareness of fall risks and decrease falls that could lead to ER visits or hospital and nursing home admissions.
