Our History

Central Penn Physical Therapy Inc. was established in 1989 by a Kulpmont native, Mary Lazarski-Stout, in order to provide the most current state-of-the-art physical therapy services to area residents.

Central Penn provides physical therapy care to adults and children with a variety of disorders and problems which may compromise their quality of life.

Over the course of 26 years, the practice has expanded to providing expert Physical Therapy services in 2 office locations, Shamokin and Elysburg.

Treatment and therapies offered, result in an increase in ROM and strength; improved posture, coordination and balance; reduction or elimination of pain and swelling, improvement in self management and function and improvement in overall quality of life.

Being a shoulder specialist, Dr. Mary Stout has established a Shoulder Center at Central Penn Physical Therapy offering an evidence based movement based approach to rehabilitation of shoulder dysfunction.

Central Penn Physical Therapy considers itself a Primary Care Physical Therapy Service providing patient management through screening, examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, education, prevention, coordination of care and referral to other providers to prevent, remediate, reduce, or slow the progression of impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions; and lessen the impact of environmental barriers and optimizing cost-effective clinical outcomes.
